9 December - SUNNY (But I am not running cos I ran in my dream last night - think i did a good 10km!)

We paid Albert (current occupant of future home and future neighbour) a visit last night bearing bribe of curry chicken and baguatte in exchange for the privilege to take photos and measurements.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Albert gave us the key to the apartment that he is currently occupying BEFORE we even sign the contract! So I went over this afternoon (when he is out teaching) and took measurements to my heart content...

I have mentally decorated the place and started making a long list of furnitures to buy at IKEA!

8 December - Grocery Shopping

Since I am now a taitai-cum-maid, I do grocery shopping almost every day. One of my favourite supermarket (besides god-sent-Asian-supermarket) is Coop... I have to secretly that all these photos to avoid being thrown out. Thank god Coop is relatively quiet today.

I decided to buy Cauliflower since is it on 1/2 price today. Look closely at the price tag and you will see the number 92 beside it.


I then need to weigh the item myself and press 92 on this weighing machine to generate the price! Yes - I can technically cheat and put in another cauliflower in the bag.. but I am an honest person :)

Ooo - being the cheapo that we are (see post on letterbox), Coop have a wrapping paper dispenser... for FREE!

La Boite A The (I have no idea what this means)

8 December - SUNNY....

I found a substitute (somewhat) to my Ya Kun kopitiam cravings. It's a lovely tea cafe call La Boite A The (something something tea).

- Instead of the smell of toasted bread & half boiled eggs, I get the smell of aromatherapy.

- Instead of 6 variations of Kopi and Teh (hot, cold, c, o, kao, siu tai), I have a choice of over 100 varieties of tea from around the world!

- Instead of slurping my half boiled egg with LIGHT soya sauce (that is how M'sian likes them), I get to eat my teeny weeny cookie that comes free with my tea

- Instead of listening to aunties gossip and talking about the latest scandal of the Mediacorp stars, I get to listen to some new age oriental jazz

- Instead of being able to read the Straits Times, I get to surf the net for free to update my blogs and farm

8 December - Incredibly SUNNY! But cold.. so I can't run

My sister feels that the blog is turning into a food blog with "less-than-impressive" photos and have asked me to blog about SWISS way of living (supermarkets, laundry day etc)

So here is the first part - LETTERBOX

When Jem and I first arrived, we were given a letterbox key. We were a bit lost with this key cos there are no apartment numbers to the different units and the letterbox were not assigned.

Later we found out that we are supposed to test which letterbox we can open and have someone engrave our name on a name plate and paste on it...

And we did just that, well not quite - we HANDWRITE OUR names and stuck onto the letter box... cos we are cheapos and we will only be here temporarily.

Tom Yum, Santa and a Mule

6 December - Sunny with showers in the late afternoon *bbrrrr*

Today we had a farewell tom yum steamboat for Kelly & Henry. Henry completed his 1 year MBA course and now moving on to a new adventure in his life - a job with Amazon in the UK! And Kelly will continue to live the tai-tai life...

After lunch, Jem and I decided to go to the Lausanne Christmas market and get ourselves some "Vin Chaud" (hot wine) - Jem loves it!

Jeremy is obviously jealous that I ran twice during the week (oh yes, he is VERY competitive even though I run shorter and slower than him). So he is determined to run this afternoon.. to prove how competitive he is - he ran for far longer that I did despite the lingering ankle injury... man.... *roll eyes* :)

He did made up for it by cooking me dinner! Mix grill - my favourite of Lamb Chop and minute steak... (or maybe he is trying to fatten me up so that I will get so lazy I stop running... tsk tsk..)
